Shanel Anderson

Shanel is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) who holds her Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) graduate degree from the University of South Dakota (USD). Previously, Shanel earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, with a minor in Child and Adolescent Development. During her six years as a practicing School Psychologist, Shanel specialized in areas including: completing comprehensive evaluations for IEP and 504 eligibility within public schools, supporting safe crisis response/psychological de-escalation, completing Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)/accompanying behavior support plans, facilitating data-based decision making and intervention planning, and training staff on best practices to support learning. Shanel has targeted training and experience in evaluating for attention deficient and/or hyperactivity concerns, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), and Emotional and/or Behavioral Disorders (E/BD). 

Shanel’s professional passions include helping all individuals of all backgrounds overcome their own personal challenges and achieve their goals. A career as a School Psychologist has highlighted the many obstacles people face in the lifelong-learning process. Shanel strongly believes that the first step in achieving personal successes is by learning about oneself and others, which brings her the role of a Psychometrist here at MNNP. As a Psychometrist, Shanel prioritizes detail-oriented and accurate testing practices, paired with a welcoming and supportive testing environment.
